What About the Noise?

And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 1:9

My dad really hasn’t had kids, especially little kids, around very much for years. I wasn’t sure how he would handle the extra noise, since I watch two of my young grandsons three days a week in my home. I wanted my dad to be happy, but I also wanted to provide a positive environment for my grandsons.

I was delighted and somewhat surprised to see that my dad enjoyed having the boys here several days each week. There were times where I heard through the grapevine that the extra noise kept him from sleeping in the afternoons. I tried to be mindful of that and tried to take them places like the library, spray ground, VBS, etc. during the summer and had more quiet activities at other times at home. It wasn’t perfect, but it was lots better.

A few months later, I mentioned to my dad that I would try to keep it quiet while he napped. He told me not to do that, because he loved to hear the boys playing. God is so amazing; because this is such a big difference from the man I knew and loved who used to get nervous when kids were around very much. Our whole family is blessed by having my dad here with us. And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for My strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 1:9
